What My Dog Taught Me About God is the product of a journey I took through the “wilderness” after the deaths of my mother and stepfather within
a few weeks’ time in 2001—with the 9/11 terrorist attack occurring in the middle of that time. My grief was paralyzing, and my spiritual life became almost non-existent. Instead of reaching
out to God, I turned my face to the wall and wept bitter tears—a pattern I had developed very early in life.
My journey out of the spiritual vacuum began as I started seeing glimpses of God’s unfailing love for me as compared to my love for a puppy named Bandit whom I adopted in December
of 2002 when he was a mere eight weeks old. The book is a collection of short stories paralleling the correlations God has shown me between my love for this tiny creature and His marvelous love for me.
Wherever you may be in your own spiritual journey, my prayer is that this little book will help you to a fuller understanding of God as you see His love for you through puppy eyes.
