What My Dog Taught Me About God is the product of a journey I took through the “wilderness” after the deaths of my mother and stepfather within a few weeks’ time in 2001—with the 9/11 terrorist attack occurring in the middle of that time. My grief was paralyzing, and my spiritual life became almost non-existent. Instead of reaching out to God, I turned my face to the wall and wept bitter tears—a pattern I had developed very early in life.

My journey out of the spiritual vacuum began as I started seeing glimpses of God’s unfailing love for me as compared to my love for a puppy named Bandit whom I adopted in December of 2002 when he was a mere eight weeks old. The book is a collection of short stories paralleling the correlations God has shown me between my love for this tiny creature and His marvelous love for me.
